LASER HAIR REMOVAL

If you’re not happy with shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering. Laser hair removal is more than just ”zapping” unwanted hair. It is a medical procedure that requires training to perform.

Few people face the problem of excess hair which can be a result of hormonal imbalance, medication use or genetic predisposition. Mehak being a committed medical establishment investigates the cause and then decides the course of therapy.

Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures today. Specific lasers which target hair follicles have been developed to treat unwanted hair effectively. The lasers that best suit the Indian Skin are Nd YAG and IPL, we use them in combination, which is best for your skin and hair type.

It beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles which is absorbed by the pigment of the follicles. That destroys the unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas.

If you are planning of undergoing laser hair removal, you should limit plucking, waxing, threading and electrolysis at least 5 days before the treatment, but in between the sittings you can continue your epilation schedule. That’s because the laser targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking. Certain skin areas may be particularly sensitive (such as the upper lip and bikini area) and the use of topical anaesthetic cream may be required, but there is no need for general anaesthesia.

You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely. Immediately after treatment, there is usually no skin reaction. However, sometimes a patient may experience mild redness and swelling, which resolves within a couple of hours.

Most patients need 6 sessions given at an interval of 4-6 weeks and maintenance sessions would be required after 6 months. However in case of hormonal imbalance the sittings required will be more for desired results.

The procedure is done under the supervision of the doctor. One can get the tattoo removal done in single session as well as multiple visits.
